Pickup trucks and teenage boys seem to have a natural affinity for one another, especially in a largely rural state such as Colorado.

A recent accident in Pueblo involved two pickup trucks and three boys between the ages of 17 and 24. The outcome was not happy.

According to officers at the scene, a 2003 Ford F-150 was northbound on Grand Avenue, while a 2014 Dodge Ram 350 was westbound on West 13th Street. The Ford was driven by a 17-year old male, and the Dodge was driven by a 24-year old male. The two trucks collided in the intersection of 13th Street and Grand Avenue.

The first officers to arrive at the scene found two people with serious injuries, the driver of the Ford and his passenger, who was also 17 years old. Because serious injuries were involved, the officers summoned the police department's traffic section. The two teenagers who had been riding in the Ford were taken to a nearby hospital, where the driver of the truck eventually succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Dodge was treated for minor injuries at the scene and released.

Police have not yet released any information about the possible cause of the accident, except to rule out drugs and alcohol as causative factors. Anyone who has been injured or lost a loved one in a similar action may be interested in exploring a claim for damages against the driver whose fault caused the accident. A knowledgeable accident attorney can provide helpful advice about the evidence, possible theories of fault, and an estimate of the likelihood of recovering damages.
