Driving is a dangerous activity no matter how seasoned the person behind the wheel is. Individuals cannot account for how other people on the road will handle their vehicles and hardly know when someone is distracted or impaired. Unfortunately, these and other factors often lead to fatal accidents.

It was recently reported that an accident in Colorado claimed the life of one person. The incident involved a utility truck and a car. Apparently, the truck was attempting to make a left turn onto a roadway when the car collided with it. It was not mentioned which direction the car was traveling. There were at least two people in the car at the time of the incident and apparently only the driver in the utility truck.

The incident resulted in the driver and passenger in the car suffering injuries and being taken to the hospital. A few hours after the incident, the passenger succumbed to the injuries he or she suffered. The conditions of both drivers were not provided in the report. Authorities were continuing to investigate the incident to determine what factors may have contributed to the fatal event.

When fatal accidents occur, the information from investigations can play many roles. It can provide surviving loved ones with answers as to how the incident occurred, give authorities evidence to determine whether to file charges and can also act as evidence in civil cases for wrongful death. The family of the passenger killed in this Colorado accident may want to explore the option of filing a civil claim if they feel it suits their circumstances.
