There are few events in life that individuals find more devastating than the sudden death of a loved one. Though this type of event can have heartbreaking impacts on surviving family members, they are not uncommon. In fact, car accidents claim lives every day, and many people are left to attend to their grief. If negligence played a role in the incidents, some individuals may have reason to seek justice for their deceased loved ones through wrongful death claims.

One family in Colorado may be considering such action after a recent event. Reports stated that a 44-year-old man was attempting to cross the street near intersection that had no crosswalks. While making this attempt, the man was struck by a vehicle. He suffered fatal injuries as a result of the accident.

The driver of the vehicle was reported as being a 42-year-old man. Authorities conducted a field sobriety test on that driver, which he apparently did not pass. As a result, the man was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence. The report also stated that a similar incident had occurred just minutes earlier at another intersection, but no citations had been issued in that event.

The family of the Colorado man killed in this accident may be trying to deal with numerous emotions and necessary tasks due to their loved one's sudden death. This type of situation can prove immensely difficult to handle, and the emotional and financial struggles that result can seem overwhelming. If they feel it could be right for their circumstances, the family may wish to look into their options for filing a wrongful death claim against the driver considered at fault.
